External lubricant provides external lubricating effect in polymer fluid. It reduces the adhesion between PVC material and metal surfaces. It is commonly non-polar (i.e. paraffin and polyethylene waxes). The external lubrication effect is majorly determined by the length of the hydrocarbon chain, the branching and the functional group. It can lead to cloudiness and exudation at high dosages.
